Memcache
If you do one thing in the next week, make sure to install memcache, if you haven’t already done so. If you use it wisely, it’s amazing stuff. I installed it last week on a couple of our webservers, and adjusted one of our applications to use it, check this stats from one of the database servers:

That is just the eth0 throughput, but that’s a great drop, from ~20mbit/s to ~5mbit/s. The queries have gone down with the same ratio (3/4th) too, but I don’t have a nice graph of that, you can still see the old query amount on this graph on the far left though:

Amazing stuff, as I said: should have looked into it a lot earlier! (Thanks Aaron!)
